What the calculator compares
The calculator puts up to four options side by side for one year:
- Our package, at its fixed annual price, plus any add-ons you tick.
- A typical provider, using the median of six published Australian resident director prices we verified in October 2026 (A$7,034 ex GST, range A$4,800 to A$10,000). We converted GST-inclusive prices to ex GST so the comparison is like for like.
- Doing it yourself: appointing an employee, adviser or contact who already lives in Australia. You enter what you expect to pay them, the D&O insurance premium, registered office and secretarial costs, and your team's time.
- Relocating a director to Australia, using a single annual figure you enter.
ASIC fees are added to every option because every company pays them. In a company's first year you pay the registration fee (A$636 from 1 July 2026). In later years you pay the annual review fee (A$342 for a proprietary company). The calculator does not add late fees; the compliance calendar helps you avoid them.
Why we don't fill in the do-it-yourself numbers
What a local director costs depends on who they are and what they agree to. A senior employee may accept a modest uplift; an independent professional will want a fee, an indemnity deed and insurance. We would rather show nothing than show a figure we cannot source. Enter your own estimates and the totals update.
What the price difference buys
The cheapest option is rarely the cheapest once something goes wrong. Ask any provider, or any person you are considering, these questions:
- Do they hold a Director ID now, and will they sign a consent to act before appointment?
- Is D&O cover confirmed before appointment, and who pays for it?
- Who tracks the annual review date, the solvency resolution and officeholder changes?
- What happens if they resign? Who finds and lodges the replacement?
- Will they review financial information before signing a solvency resolution?
Our packages answer each of these in writing. See pricing for what each package includes.
Figures are general estimates for planning. They are not a quote; your fixed quote comes after onboarding.
